fuckyeahdanielmangelsdorf asked: I just want to add that, though not all schools will force teachers to use preferred pronouns, it is definitely worth trying to take to a higher authority. A principal at my school told me she viewed it as equivalent to using slur words and would treat it accordingly. Also, if a teacher is mocking you about your identity, that it something that all schools are obligated to deal with.
This is very helpful!

gender-interrupted asked: Schools unfortunately aren't obliged to use a preferred name or pronoun. You can only complain about his mocking tone, call him out for singling out a student and, if you bring up some previous incidents at other schools, you may be able to play the "endangering a student" card. You can fight it on principle, but not on policy.
It depends on the country/state/school. I’m British and at least where i’m from/in my experience, throwing up the teacher bully or discrimination card should have an effect.
The above advice from singingitfortumblr may be more accurate/helpful

Anonymous asked: My teacher outs me every single day because he calls me my birth name and then mockingly corrects himself to the name that I asked him to call me. I've asked him to stop but he won't and now all my classmates treat me like a girl. I don't know what to do. help?
Once again maybe my followers will oblige and help you out.
My advice is, take it to a higher authority, report it to a head of department or your school under the complaint that it’s discriminatory and transphobic, hopefully he’ll have a private word with the teacher enough to make him stop being a jerk and treat you as male, which should reinforce that fact to your classmates.
If it continues, report it again and maybe suggest being moved from the class if possible

Anonymous asked: I get misgendered a lot at work by customers and it kills me a bit everytime it happens. I'm a waiter and so I feel awkward telling people that I'm actually male. Any advice on how I can either deal with it by not saying anything, or how I should correct people?
This isn’t strictly an advice blog but maybe some of my followers will anser this and help you out!
It’s a bit awkward to correct customers at work as you don’t want to seem rude. You could casually drop hints tot hem that you are male, like if your name is exclusively male say ‘hello, my names ______, I’ll be your waiter for today’ Or try and mention you’re male lightheartedly like ‘sorry could you repeat that? I’m a really forgetful kind of guy!’
